Airegin Variable — The Grotesk as System

Airegin Variable is a contemporary neo-grotesque type system built around width, weight and attitude. Developed across Condensed, Standard and Extended widths, with Roman, Italic and Backslant behaviours, it treats the grotesque not as a fixed neutral voice, but as a flexible typographic infrastructure.

The family is designed to move between clarity and expression while preserving proportion, spacing and typographic color. Its variable structure allows shifts in width, weight and attitude without breaking the internal logic of the system.

Airegin Monospace exists as a related branch within the broader Airegin family, but it is not part of the current variable font submitted here. The project has been conceived as an expandable typographic ecosystem, with the capacity to keep growing through future styles, behaviours and use conditions.

This submission presents Airegin Variable through six editorial specimen images: system thesis, architecture, reading texture, variable behaviour, professional contexts and a final signature specimen.

Airegin Variable is fully produced and prepared for public release. Airegin Condensed, Standard and Extended were published in 2025 by EntasisType Foundry. Airegin Monospace is a related branch of the broader Airegin family, but it is not included in the current variable font submitted here. The Airegin system has been conceived as an expandable typographic ecosystem, with future growth planned beyond this submission.
