Half Day at the Lake is an ultramarathon run along the shores of Lake Michigan in Evanston, Illinois. The identity for the race was inspired by flags waved by cheering supporters and flags and kites at the beaches in Evanston. The lettering was designed to evoke the motion and energy of a running event like this.
