This project translates the spirit of the Recycled Orchestra of Cateura into a tactile visual system. Each city is represented through abstract compositions built from three to five colors drawn from its cultural identity. Using print paper, cardboard, acrylic paint, my hand, hair dryer, the air in the studio, and my old expired gift cards, color is applied and smudged directly by hand, then scanned to preserve its raw, unrefined texture. The process resists digital layering, allowing each mark to remain singular, imperfect, and materially present.
Each poster carries a distinct rhythm of texture, color, and movement, while existing within a cohesive system. Together, they echo the orchestra’s transformation of discarded materials into instruments—where fragments, though incomplete on their own, gain meaning through intention and assembly.
Signed vinyl and CD editions extend this exchange. Hand-signed by the players and available exclusively at performances, they create a direct connection between the musicians and the audience. These objects become both artifacts and encounters, encouraging presence, participation, and shared experience.
