The 2025 Deep Tech Opportunities Report marks the third publication in an ongoing series of annual reports designed in collaboration with One Design, each exploring a defining theme shaping the future of the sector.
This year’s edition centers on the idea of catalyzing an American industrial renaissance. The report examines the resurgence of cross-sector innovation across the United States, highlighting how breakthroughs in materials science, energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure are reshaping the physical world. In response, the design moves deliberately away from digital aesthetics, embracing materiality, tactility, and a sense of industrial craft.
The cover serves as the conceptual and sensory anchor of the piece. A field of blind-embossed stamps represents each company within DCVC’s portfolio—subtle yet deliberate impressions that reference the way industrial manufacturers mark, forge, and claim ownership over the physical materials they produce. This approach transforms the cover into an artifact in its own right: one that must be handled, tilted, and experienced through touch. A blaze-orange band wraps the publication as a visual cue drawn from safety markings, construction materials, and industrial equipment.
