Moments, Collected is an archive of 550 personal items collected over five years, which were originally intended to be discarded after a brief period of use. The collection includes clothing labels, shopping bags, confetti from concerts, tickets, failed Polaroid photographs, postcards, and hotel key cards… evidence of special occasions that typically disappear once their original purposes have been fulfilled.
By gathering and cataloguing these ephemeral materials from personal experience, the project examines how disposable objects can carry memory, design, and cultural meaning beyond their intended functions. Organized as a catalog, Free with Purchase repositions these everyday remnants as artifacts worthy of attention, using classification and documentation to slow down their disappearance and reveal them as records of personal history, branding, and the consumer systems through which they circulate.
Alongside the archive, a companion zine titled Spend to Celebrate explores holiday consumerism through a collection of festive retail-related objects. The zine considers how celebration is increasingly performed through spending, and how seasonal design transforms consumption into ritual.
