Finally! Another shirt that you can read!

Two Way Tie for Last is the second issue of Two Way Tie for Last, a zine in long sleeve tee shirt form written, designed and edited by Tokyo designers Ian Lynam and Samuel Rhodes.

The second issue features essays by Sam and Ian in response to Sam’s question, “What is a ‘hit’ in graphic design”?

It’s an interesting question. Not many non-practitioners can name reputed graphic designers, much less identify their work. Yet, on occasion, there actually are graphic design hits… but how and why?

Printed in cherry red and artificial grape flavor purple, this zine-as-tee shirt also bears a printed QR code to an annoying side-scroll microsite that bears the full text content of both essays.

Graphics-wise, we’ve got ol’ Uncle Raymond Loewy, the work of Kamekura Yūsaku, Paul Rand, the official No Limit credit card, some fake Kandinskys, the Weekend Romance scene report about the turtle that lives next to Sam’s new apartment, and so much more!

Silkscreen printed in cherry red and depressing dark violet on heavy duty Gildan long sleeve tee shirts.
